News & Updates

BRAUN Wind Turbines has successfully tested the new ABB DM inverters for wind!

Already in autumn 2017 we were informed about the discontinuation of the ABB/PO wind inverters.
We immediately got to work with our partner to look for alternatives.
With success, thanks to courageous commitment and also with the support of ABB.
After about 6 months of development work, the new DM solar inverters for wind are available.
The wind parameters (characteristic curve) are transmitted to the solar inverter via data cable.
The characteristic curve controller is integrated in our control cabinet and has a USB connection for remote maintenance, e.g. via Teamviewer.
The MPP tracking on the inverter is deactivated and it works according to the set characteristic curve V DC or rpm.
Currently, the market launch of the 1-phase devices up to max. 5.0 kW is taking place.

ABB’s 3-phase units will be available from summer 2018 in the power classes 5.8 kW, 7.5 kW, 8.5 kW and 20 kW.
When the field tests are completed, we will report.

If you have any questions about the project, please give us a call!
